Day 5

This was the last day of training. I learned some very helpful information that I will be able to use throughout my intern. It was nice getting to meet everyone and I look forward to working with each of you.

Day 4 Reflection

I learned a lot of useful information yesterday. I had fun with doing the Digital
Storytelling. I learned about the open source software that is free and can be dowloaded. We had some difficulties with ours but we still got it done. I realled enjoyed the Tux of Command. This is something that I am going to download on my computer for my 10 year old because he can learn and play at the same time. This day I learned a lot of information that I can share with the teachers.

Day 3 Reflecction

Oh My God I really enjoyed yesterday. I learned about obervations and visits. I learned that observations is basically just sitting and watching the teacher. In observing, we should see what technology they have, how many computers they have, what the teachers are teaching well basically what the subject area is, the age of the student and what grade. In a visit, you come give the teachers feedback on what you observed. I learned that you should teach the teachers why technology is important not just how to use it. The YouTube video that we watched had a lot of information on it. I think technology is something else in today's society. And last but not least, the Igloo system. It had quite of bit of information on it. We will be able to do a lot of things on there including blogging. This is something that I find very interesting now.

Day 2 Reflection

I learned a lot of information today. I really had fun with the Windows Movie Maker. I never made a movie until today. I loved the way my team members worked together getting all of the information without any problems. I am looking forward to doing some even more interesting things tomorrow. This tool will be very helpful to teachers because they will be have to have fun and learn at the same time. I also enjoyed publishing our podcast. This was interesting also. All of this is quite new to me but I enjoyed doing them. Keep up the good work and you all are the best trainers ever...

Reflection of Day 1

I really learned a lot of information yesterday. I learned that the webmail is going to be very useful throughout this internship. I learned about the different features that are included within it. I also liked Google Earth. It was very interesting. I saw so many different things that could be done with it. Creating a blog was very interesting to me also. I have never done that and that was pretty new to me. I learned some things about email ettiquette that I should have known but didn't. I didn't know that if you sent an email in all CAPS that it was unacceptable.

Angela Hoggan: This internship is to develop a broader knowledge of technology to be an asset in the school system. I am to show professionalism through my attire, conversations, and abilities. During this internship, I plan to develop and increased knowledge of technology, and computer skills. I also desire to be an asset for both DOT and the school system in which we are selected for.



Devetrice: My goals are to become one of the best internships with this organization. I plan to learn new skills so that I can help the teachers that I become involved with by incorporating what I have learned to help them better their lessons. I hope that I will be a valuable asset to both DOT and the school system where I will be utilizing my skills and training.



Chiwanda McGill: My goals for this internship is to help educate our children of the future how to use technology. To let them know that it is not as hard as they make think it maybe. I have a son that is only five years old and he already knows how to use a computer and other technology devices.



Quintina Peterson: During this internship, I hope to become more knowledgeable about technology and its use in a classroom setting. Some of my other goals include to improve my networking, presentation, and public speaking skills, and to establish professional connections and contacts. I also would like to help students become more involved in the learning process through the use of technology. I also want to use this internship to get a glimpse of the educational/teaching arena. By doing this I will be able to explore a new different field of study before making a serious commitment.
